Hair Origin

South American

Belorio Virgin Hair origin is South America. Our South American hair is collected as individual ponytails from donors who are compensated to cut their hair for our collectors. Belorio South American Hair is not a product of China or India nor has it ever been exported from Asia. This is genuine, authentic, South American Hair.

Our Categories of South American Hair

Straight:

Hair that is bone straight or may contain slight natural body pattern.

Wavy/Curly:

Hair that is body wave, light wavy to curly, only curly ends on wavy hair, or bundles may have a combination of patterns, and finally Molado. Wavy/Curly category hair does not mean every bundle will have waves and curls together. Curly hair is rare and this pattern makes up only a very small percentage of the ponytails that are collected.

Ponytails:

In the ponytails category, we hand select items to feature. There may be any range of patterns and textures. Some ponytails may be raw, unworked hair we have not opened from their original band when the hair was cut and some may be ponytails we've taken out of their original bands and drawn out the top several inches of short hairs (we refer to this as ``the shortest hairs``) to prepare it for ventilating, wig making, lace and silk top closure, wefting or making pretipped bonds. Each listing will specify the details.

We do not offer ``top heavy`` ponytails. A top heavy ponytail is one where we can predict with certainty by its off balance weight that there is a disproportionate quantity of short hairs near the cutting point. This is what we consider waste hair. We list only ponytails where we feel the majority of the ponytail can be of use with minimal loss. Expect listed ponytails that are unworked to have natural tapering to the ends with all natural growth layers from root to end. We cannot estimate how much will be lost during tipping or wigmaking because the hair is outside our control.

Defining Hair Texture:

Hair texture is the diameter of the hair strand and ranges from fine (thinnest strand) to coarse (thickest strand). We disclose hair texture in the item's description to meet the anticipated need of wanting a particular texture and we also provide a photo for those who feel texture is not as important as the ``look`` they're searching for.

Matching Color Codes:

In the categories of Straight and Wavy/Curly machine wefted hair (respectively), matching color dots indicate wefts from that category have been compared together and found to be compatible in both texture and pattern to wear for a single install. Even with matching color codes, there may be slight differences between wefts and this includes color variations. We do not pair up black wefts with medium brown wefts but we will pair up to a one level color difference among wefts.

Density:

Hair density refers to the number of curly strands you have on your head. The more strands you have, the higher your density is; the fewer the number of strands, the lower your density.

Cambodian

Cambodian hair is ethically sourced hair collected from Cambodian donors. This hair type comes in three main textures, straight, wavy and curly. It is naturally and lusciously gorgeous. At the same time, it is incredibly lightweight. Additionally, Cambodian hair is slightly coarse in nature and holds up very well to styling. Equally, it withstands more heat than most hair types. It can also hold a curl well and can withstand dyes and coloring without much damage to the quality of the hair. Another fact… it blends well with relaxed/pressed African American women hair.

FEATURES OF CAMBODIAN HAIR

Healthy Cuticles

Cambodian hair is collected from a hair donor, and it has never been processed or chemically treated. Its cuticles are usually intact and naturally aligned in the same direction which reduces the risk of matting and tangling.

Natural Color

Cambodian hair, in particular, has a genuine natural color which is a milder shade of black. Vendors call this Color 1b or off black. Sometimes it can come in a softer shade of black called color 2.

Coloring And Bleaching

This particular hair type is the best when it comes to coloring and bleaching. Cambodian hair takes to bleaching and/or coloring very well but, however, we strongly advised that it should be done by a professional, using good quality coloring materials.

European (Russian, Slavic)

Natural. Light. Soft. All of the hair used in our wigs and hairpieces are harvested ethically from Europe. Unlike other hair systems, all hair used in our wigs and hairpieces have been cut directly from ponytails of all textures and colors to offer a natural, full variety. The cuticles are left intact and facing the same to direction to maintain shine and texture wash after wash. Hair in each piece was sourced from a single individual’s head to ensure a natural movement.

Indian

Virgin Indian Hair:

Virgin Indian Human Hair is the best quality of Raw Indian hair and it is the unprocessed human hair in any way. It is one of most expensive of all the Human Hair types. Some of the Cheap human hair is processed and bleached to rip the cuticle off hair follicles to make it look like Remy human hair.

Remy Indian Hair:

Remy Indian Hair is a specialty and highly desired variety of Human hair where the Cuticles run in Mono direction which allows the hair to have lustrous shine and gorgeousness. It takes extra effort and time in collecting the hair in this way but its totally worth it, as it increases the durability of the Remy Indian Hair. The cuticles look like fish scales running in the mono direction. So when the hair strands are aligned in different directions it makes the Human Hair to matte easily and hence makes it an undesirable product.

Hair that is not made from Remy hair becomes tangled a lot easier because the upper and lower ends of the hair are mixed. The good news for you is that Remy Indian Hair is available at our site as straight, curly, or a kinky curly hair weave. You can instantly have the added hair length you desire and the much-needed thickness that you’ve also been waiting for your hair.

We hope that we debunked some of the myths and questions that you might have had about how Remy hair originates! Enjoy your soft and gorgeous locks even more now that you know where they come from. They have a bit of history and pilgrimage attached to them!

Asian /Filipino

The Philippines is considered a melting pot of cultures, most Filipinos have mixed blood providing unique luscious hair. The hair has excellent volume and soft to the touch, providing great body and movement.

Lace and Lace Types

Lace

It is important to know that to obtain a seamless scalp finish you will need to match the lace to your natural scalp (There is NO need to bleach your unit’s knots). To achieve a natural scalp look, we advise that you gradually apply powder foundation (usually the color you already use, or a shade lighter may work best) with a powder brush to the bottom side of the wig, and with a Q-tip to the top scalp/exposed scalp areas. We advise that you start light and gradually add powder foundation until the lace knots are not visible/ you achieve your desired look.

Swiss Lace

Swiss lace is a very durable lace. Thin, yet durable, Swiss lace is a great choice. Most hair companies use Swiss lace in front lace wigs because it is thicker, but still gives a very natural hairline. This natural and durable lace easily matches your complexion.

High Definition (HD) Lace

HD stands for “high definition.” HD lace is a royal lace material that is also called Swiss lace, which is invisible when applied to the scalp. This ensures that the wig-wearer can have an exposed hairline, which looks very natural and renders the lace along the hairline highly undetectable.

Traditional Swiss vs. HD Lace

The main difference between swiss lace and HD lace is that HD laces are thinner and more transparent. Modern technologies are used to create HD laces. Thus, they are softer and undetectable when placed on the skin surface, however, you have to be more cautious when styling to avoid tears/damage.

Density

Fine

What is fine hair and can you tell if you have it? The difference between fine hair and thin hair is to do with the density of your hair and the thickness of the strands. With fine hair, you have lots of hairs with a small diameter. With thin hair, you can have thick hair strands but fewer of them

Normal

``Hair with a small diameter—or fine hair—has a typical diameter of about 50 microns,`` Spengler explains. ``Hair with a larger diameter—or coarse hair—has a typical diameter of about 120 microns.`` For comparison's sake, a piece of copy paper is 70 microns thick.

Volume

What Is Hair Density?

Hair density refers to the number of individual strands of hair on your head. Not to be confused with the term “thick hair”, this refers to the width of a single hair strand. Hair density is measured counting the number of hair strands present in one square inch of the scalp. On an average 2200 strands of hair are found in one square inch of scalp. Hair volume is a synonym to hair density; if you have high hair density then you have bigger hair volume.

Hair Texture Vs. Density: What Is The Difference?

The basic difference between hair density and hair texture is simple. Hair texture is the QUALITY of each strand of hair whereas hair density is the QUANTITY of hair.

The quality of hair or the hair texture is the size/width of each hair strand and it is determined by the cortex. There are three types of hair textures; medium, fine and coarse. The thicker hair is stronger hair while fine hair is weaker. Coarse hair is the weakest.

The quantity of hair or the hair density is the number of hair strands found on your scalp. We can determine the hair density between two or more people by counting the number of hair on an inch square of scalp. Hair density can vary as high, medium and low.

Wig Structure

Glueless

Glueless wigs do not require glue or adhesive to stay attached to the head. Usually, a glueless wig is either a lace front or full lace wig. In addition, these wigs often come with clips or an adjustable band attached to the monofilament cap so that the wearer can forgo the use of harsh adhesives.

Lace Frontal

Lace front wigs contain lace in the front of the wig. A lace front wig is attached to the front edges of your head, along your hairline where there is often a lace panel.

Full Lace

Full lace wigs have a full base made of lace, meaning you can wear the wig in any style you like which is the main reason many people decide to go for a full lace. The lace makes the wig light on the head compared to other wig bases.
